The Best Hypnosis Frequently Asked Questions For You

Some Hypnosis Frequently Asked Questions I get as a Hypnotherapist:

Is ONLINE hypnotherapy as effective as IN-PERSON?

Absolutely! As long as you can see and hear me, you will be able to experience exactly the same benefits you would with an in-person session. Hypnosis is an all natural approach to healing that can happen anywhere whether remote or in person and so does not require me to be in the same room with you.

With online hypnotherapy, you will undertake your sessions in the comfort and security of your own home. You might even feel more comfortable and relaxed in your own surroundings allowing you to have the best hypnosis experience. An online session guarantees you total confidentiality in the exact same way an in-person session offers. A good internet connection is all you need. What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a way to communicate with the subconscious mind to help bring the conscious and subconscious minds together for alignment. A trained hypnotherapist is skilled at communicating with the subconscious mind to help release the blocks and barriers that are in the way of alignment.

How does hypnosis work?

Hypnosis works by calming the conscious mind through relaxation and breathing techniques. It enhances your ability to image, create, remember, and to respond to suggestions. You are always in control and can either reject or accept suggestions. Since suggestions for imagery are used during hypnotherapy, you can have very vivid, imaginative, and creative experiences.

What if I can’t be hypnotized?

Everyone goes in and out of hypnosis everyday through daydreaming, watching TV, and having strong emotions. Everyone is different, and some people enter a light trance while others enter a very deep level of hypnosis. Hypnosis is a right brain function, so the more the right brain is used, typically the easier hypnosis can be achieved.

How will I know if I have been hypnotized? What does it feel like?

You may recall the entire session, only pieces of images, or you may not remember anything at all. Additionally, some people may not “feel” any different than when relaxing comfortably in a chair, while others may feel like they are in a relaxed place somewhere between awake and falling asleep. Moreover, you may simply experience deep relaxation with the feelings of peacefulness, lightness (as if floating) or heaviness (as if sinking further into a chair). Time distortion can also occur. However, some people may feel as if they were not hypnotized at all. All of this is O.K. As a result, a good indication of hypnosis is future change in emotions, thoughts, feelings, and/or behaviors.

Can hypnotherapy help me stop ________?

The short answer is YES! Hypnotherapy may be used to help change a variety of habits such as smoking, over eating, nail biting, etc… and be used for problems such as managing and controlling stress/anxiety/panic attacks. You can also overcome fears like public speaking, flying, spiders, and other phobias. Hypnosis can also improve emotional well-being by building confidence & self-esteem and can help manage depression and grief. Additionally, you can help improve physical conditions by controlling or suppressing pain or discomfort and help promote healing with hypnosis. You can also use hypnotherapy for personal development like reaching goals and helping to improve sports or other performances. Concentration, focus, and learning abilities can also be improved.

Can you help me forget a terrible experience I went through?

While hypnosis cannot erase memories, it can help you change your feelings about past experiences. So instead of forgetting an experience, you will actually be releasing stored negative emotions that were attached to those experiences. By doing this you will be able to look at the experience without the emotional attachment, in other words, without the baggage that used to be attached to the experience.

What if recall something in hypnosis that is awful and I hadn’t remembered till now?

The subconscious mind will only bring forward what is necessary for your highest good. If an experience is recalled that was previously forgotten, the subconscious mind felt it beneficial to bring forward for resolution.

Is there a guarantee?

My guarantee is that you will experience relaxation; you will experience a shift in your perspective. As with any skill, we practice to become better. There is no guarantee that you will allow yourself to be hypnotized, unless you want to be hypnotized. Everyone is different; however, sincere desire and expectation improves your ability to achieve and overcome.
